Mooks Character Rigs

Need some bad guys with charm?

Mooks have you covered! Lazy, cheap, and totally incompetent, these little guys are as robust as they are friendly, so don't worry about breaking any bones or riddling them full of holes; they've got great health insurance, and honestly, they could really use the time off.

These character rigs have been tested with Blender 3.6, but should be compatible with most previous versions. Also included is a Blender 4.0 compatible version.

Hello! This is a Blend file of my Mook models, set up almost identically to how I animate them. They're by no means professionally rigged, I just used the Rigify addon as well as a couple extra bones to add things like pouches or their nametag, but they should be reasonably easy to set up for VRChat or Bonelab if you know what you're doing (I don't, don't ask me).

When using these models, I'd highly recommend importing the entire collection instead of the individual armatures or objects, in order to prevent any of the custom widgets from cluttering up your scene.

Credit for the original concept goes to @EliseHeider on Twitter, give her a follow or toss a couple bucks at her (ko-fi.com/darbaras) as thanks if you like them. Models, textures, and rigs by myself (@FunSizedThought on Twitter or @miraclebutt on Discord).

You're free to animate, edit, modify, or otherwise use these models for non-commercial purposes. Gimme an @ on Twitter or Discord if you make something you're particularly proud of, I'd love to see it!

Includes:

Mooks.blend file containing the below rigged models:

  • One Supervisor Mook,
  • One Generic Mook,
  • One Enforcer Mook,
  • Machine Pistol with detachable magazine,
  • Sub Machine Gun with detachable magazine,
  • Shotgun with shell rack,
  • Enforcer Shield,
  • Radio,
  • Phone,
  • Coffee Cup.

Occasionally, appending will disable the Rigify UI. You can fix this by opening up the Script tab and running this line of code for each Mook rig UI that needs to be enabled.

Generic and Supervisor Mook:

bpy.context.object ['rig_ui_script'] = bpy.data.texts ['mook_generic_rig_ui.py']

Enforcer Mook:

bpy.context.object ['rig_ui_script'] = bpy.data.texts ['mook_enforcer_rig_ui.py']
